Have you ever had someone tell you exactly what you need to hear. I sure hope you have because it’s so wonderful and uplifting. I hope this post is something you need to hear this week, straight from God. He is working, he is behind the scenes moving things that you don’t even know about. He is working in people, he is working in things, he’s working in places even, to prepare them for you.
Recently I found myself finding it harder and harder to be happy where I am. Physically where I am in my home, it’s falling apart around me. We have no running water, If we don’t run the heater all night long it will be freezing in the morning because there’s a giant hole in the wall. I find myself daydreaming about the day that I get to live in a house that doesn’t have these problems, and I’ll have my own bathroom! And even though sometimes it seems good to think about all the things I can do with this house, to plan all the ministries I want to start in it. To think about how we are going to help others by giving them a place to stay when they need it, giving them a comfortable place to just be in if they need it. None of these are bad things, in fact I think they’re great things they give me something to look forward to. But When I think too much on them I think why aren’t we there yet? Why God have you put us in a place like this, if you were to just move us we could help your kingdom so much more than we can here. So why do you keep us here? But back in December I talked to my sister and she asked me what I wanted for Christmas, I laughed and I said “a new house? I would love a new home there’s a hive in my wall and honey dripping down it, I’m pretty sure there is a mouse too just haven’t seen it but I hear it all the time.”
She told me exactly what I wanted to hear, “wow that sucks”. And then she told me what I needed to hear, she said I’m choosing my words wisely because I believe these are coming straight from God. Your next house is going to play a huge part in your ministry, but it’s not ready for you yet. Focus on your ministry and the house will come on its own, the perfect house that was made for you and Christian to do all the things you want to. This isn't a waiting season to see if you can just grit your teeth and bare it, but it’s preparing you for the future. It’s just not ready yet.
Whatever season you are in take a moment right now to appreciate where God has placed you. Be ready, be willing, and don’t think you’re just waiting out the season. This season is preparing you for what is going to come next. Take the lessons in this time as building blocks for your life. Just because it’s not ready yet, or you’re not ready yet doesn’t mean it’s not coming.
“Be joyful in hope, Patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” –Romans 12:12
